This class is for young dogs and puppies recently brought into a family and home. Class time includes playtime among the puppies as well as playtime involving people who are unfamiliar to the puppy. Both of these are extremely important in the process of socialization and help create a confident and happy dog that gets along well with other dogs and people. During each class an obedience exercise will be taught and practiced as well as reviewing exercises from previous classes. Important health and behavioral issues will be addressed each week along with question and answer time available as needed. Class size is small - limited to 5 "students" per class in order to maximize individual attention. All classes run in six-week cycles. Currently we are enrolling for classes beginning in July. The fee for classes is $75.00 per dog. Proof of current immunizations is required to take part in all classes. Adult dog obedience and socialization classes are also enrolling for July sessions. The adult classes work to cement the obedience exercises under increasing amounts of distraction. We also work on common behavioral issues such as excessive jumping. This class to a large measure is driven by the individual needs of the participants.
